As golf season ends in Colorado and begins in Phoenix, I am feeling reflective about the Summer that has passed. This was an amazing first few months of a new job, and I can honestly say that I am having an amazing time. Being in the golf industry and having golf for a backdrop for a job is amazing, and it certainly makes all of the long hours and relentless hard work much easier to endure. What really makes it all worth whole is hearing someone say how much they like our all-weather golf grips. Or how much they appreciate our golf grip installation tools. After a frenetic 5 months of Summer and Fall I am really pleased with how impressive I have found our products to be. I realize that I have not really done much to explain our products in this blog, so I thought I would take a moment to explain what PURE Grips all-weather golf grips and golf grip installation tools are all about.
In the spirit of my Entrepreneur's quest, I figured I could share the qualities of our products via the travels and experiences I had this Summer. I will begin with the grips, but I will also explain our golf grip installation tools.
OUR GRIPS- Our all-weather golf grips are unique in several ways:
- PURE Grips are uniquely tacky, when you feel them you will understand.
- Our grips are GUARANTEED to remain tacky and not wear our for 1 year. If you wear them out we will gladly replace them.
- Our grips are made from a proprietary blend of 100% rubber, no plastic or fillers
- Because of the quality of our rubber, our grips are durable, and they perform in all weather conditions. Our rubber formula is water resistant, to help keep grips dry in wet and humid conditions. Our grips remain supple and tacky in heat or cold.
- Our grips are made with industry leading production tolerances. So our grips are consistent in weight and rubber concentration, unlike the majority of golf grips on the market. Our weights are +/- 1 gram, versus 3-5 grams for our competitors. We have no seams, no buffer lines and no variance in the thickness of the walls of our grips.
- Our grips are MADE IN THE USA. Not China or Mexico, like all the others.
So, I got to put our grips to the test this Summer, on almost all aspects of the list above. I truly love the way my PURE Grips feel, the tackiness gives me a sense of confidence in my control of the club. My grips have been through a lot of travel, many rounds and a lot of weather conditions. They are still tacky as the day I first installed them. As far as all-weather golf grips go, I can truly attest to the performance of PURE Grips on this level. Click Here to check out this video clip from one of the wettest rounds of golf I have ever played. We were in Hamburg, NJ for an event called Birdies for Breast Cancer and we were excited to get together and play some golf. We were at a beautiful course called Ballyowen and the rain would not stop. We sloshed our way around and actually had a blast. I am usually a terrible wet weather player, but my all-weather golf grips actually made it possible to keep a good hold on my clubs. I did not shoot my best round ever, but I played well enough to give my partner a sound beating! On another trip, this time to Hilton Head, SC I got to enjoy the benefits of our rubber blend in humid conditions.
The video above is from Berkely Hall Country Club in Hilton Head, SC. We were fortunate to play there with Rick Quinn from {e} house studio. I typically have to wipe my grips repeatedly in hot and humid conditions, but I was really pleased with how my PURE Grips All-Weather Golf Grips performed that day. I had a couple of tough holes, but in all I played pretty well on some challenging Tom Fazio designed bermuda greens. I love these grips! But, hey I guess I am biased. But hey, PURE Grips are durable golf grips, all-weather golf grips, and PURE Grips perform. Maybe you will be biased too once you have some.
I have mentioned our golf grip installation tools here, but I have never taken the time to explain one of the most interesting parts of our business. Tapeless, solvent-free installation of golf grips is the easiest, most cost-effective way to install grips ever invented. We can do things with our golf grip installation tools that amaze people that have been installing golf grips for decades. First off, let's explain the process, then we can talk about the possibilities. Rather than using traditional tape and solvent, we recommend golf grip installation with air pressure. Our patent-pending golf grip installation tools allow us to apply a grip onto a shaft without tape or solvent, in 25% of the time of traditional methods. This saves time in materials and labor, and eliminates a big, smelly mess. Check out this video of Mike installing a grip, over the old tape on a driver shaft. It takes him 10 seconds! See it here for yourself.
If you haven't seen our full installation video, take a look at it here. It does a pretty good job of explaining the process. Most people think it sounds too easy, but once they have survived the learning curve (about 3 grips), they are amazed at how much easier it is than using tape and solvent. Then we show them some really crazy stuff! I love to cut a grip off an old club and hand to some one to peel the tape. While they peel that one club, I will proceed blow on new grips over their existing tape and finish their whole set before they finish peeling tape on one club. We can put our grips on without any tape, in fact none of my clubs will ever have tape on them again. However, when you have grips built up to a size you really like, or you are in a hurry and cannot take time to peel tape, you can blow grips on over old or new tape.
The video above is a quick walk through from Demo Day at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, AZ, a great day at a beautiful facility! This beautiful community boasts 6 beautiful Jack Nicklaus designed courses. We had a member there that had some pretty crazy grips, and we managed to impress him. He had oversized grips on top of 3 layers of DUCT TAPE and a couple wraps of double-sided tape!!! He was really hesitant to let us mess with his grips, but eventually he allowed us to proceed because we could apply our grips without messing up his existing tape! We cut his old grips off and applied our Midsize Wrap over his tape. He went immediately to the range and hit a few balls (no drying time required) and came back saying he wished he had a couple more wraps of tape. So, we blew his grip off, added two more wraps of tape and blew the same grip right back on!! He went back to the range and then off to the tee. He stopped by later and here is what he had to say, click here.
I think we made a lot of new friends at Desert Mountain, and we are enjoying all of the opportunities we have to make new friends in the world of golf. I think people appreciate hitting better golf shots, and we find people to be easy friends once they try our products. Stay tuned for upcoming blogs on "Golf Gifts for X-Mas 2009", "My Favorite Innovative Golf Products" and and introduction to the PURE Grips team that make it all happen. Thanks!
